Five Basic Steps on How to Do Facial at Home
We hardly get time to follow any kind of skincare routine due to our hectic schedules. And working women who have to equally manage their homes and work prefer to visit parlours to get facial done as it requires less effort and are relaxed with paying a few bucks extra. Though there are pros of visiting a parlour but we eventually forget about the quality of the services or the products provided and how it may effect our skin in the long term.
Most of the cosmetics products
that we buy from markets are chemical products and can damage our skin to a
great extent. Facials done with natural ingredients are highly beneficial for
maintaining the skin tone and complexions. So, it is always recommended to have
facials at home by following some of the basic steps.
Try this steps at home and see
your skin glowing within three months.
There are five basic steps of
doing facials at home. Firstly, cleansing/ scrubbing, then face massage, third
step is steam, fourth step is applying mask and fifth is moisturising.
These steps are very easy to
follow if you can spare 30 minutes from your hectic schedule twice in a month.
It is always recommended to keep a gap of fortnight for going for the second
facial.
Let's begin with the 1st step -
1) Cleansing/ Scrubbing- Cleansing is the first step for going
with any kind of skincare programme. For facials, the first step is to cleanse
your face. Take a small amount of milk in a bowl, dip a cotton ball in it and
apply on your face and neck and massage in circular motions to take out all the
dirt from the skin. Once you are done with the cleansing, take one tsp of
rice powder, mix it with milk for scrubbing and apply on your face. Massage
your face for sometime and wash off your face with cold water. This will make
your skin smooth and glowing.
2) Massaging - The second step is to massage your skin
with a good massaging creme. Their are many massaging cremes available in
markets. You can go for Vitamin E or Aloe Vera creme. Take a small amount of
creme, mix with some cold water and start massaging your skin. In between, you
can again take out some creme, mix with water and massage your skin. The
massage should continue for at least 15 mins till the entire creme gets
absorbed in the skin. Please note that this is the most important step for a
good facial as facial includes massage which helps in blood circulation.
3) Steam - Now comes the third step, Steaming. Pour some water in a
bowl, put it over gas oven, bring it to boil. Now cover your head with
towel, keep your face over bowl and take steam for at least 5 mins. Once done,
take out the excess moisture from your face with the help of a soft towel. Steam
is beneficial as it makes your face sweat, opens the pores and helps soften the
surface layer of dead skin cells and helps in removal of dirt from skin
4) Face Mask - After steaming, the next process is
to apply mask all over your face and neck. Make a face mask with one tsp of
sandalwood powder and potato juice. Make a thin paste and apply all over your
face and neck. Keep this mask till it dries completely. Wash off your face with
luke warm water. This is a very effective face mask for removing tan, blemishes
and pigmentation as potato contains natural bleaching properties. You can try
other mask as well as per your choice and as per your skin tone.
5) Moisturizing- The last step is to apply moisturiser all
over your face so that the skin does not feel dry.
With age, our skin tends to break and wrinkles and fine lines
starts appearing making us look, dull and aged. Facials are always recommended
for women above 35 years as facials helps tighten our skin, it helps to relax
facial muscles which can slow down the process of ageing. With facial massages,
puffiness reduction, sagging in the face and skin cell renewal are
extra benefits that make make our skin look bright and glowing with growing
age.
Teenagers can also go for facial once in a month for maintaining and retaining a
glowing and smooth skin.
Last but not least, always go
for ingredients that are available in kitchen rather than cosmetic products for
taking care of your skin.
